Born in Barcelona, Borja López Díaz specialized as a Director of Photography at ESCAC, with further studies in Sweden, after getting his college degree in Audiovisual Communication.
He bought and fixed a wasted Arri BL 16mm camera with his savings and shot all the expired film he could along with his director friends: Mireia Pujol and Jordi Cussó. He developed his personal style while shooting short films and music videos at the beginning of his career and spending long nights at the grading room with his colorist friend Xavi Santolaya. After a while, he started shooting commercials and he hasn’t stop since then.
His work has been recognized as sophisticated and visually strong in several international festivals. He always pushes himself forward, getting inspired by travelling and fearless experimentation, looking for constant evolution studying other disciplines besides filmmaking.
